Colloquium on Godna & Documentary Screening
Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya is organising Colloquium and Documentary Screening on Godna as part of concluding ceremony of ongoing workshop ‘Godna Srijan’ on Thursday, May 14 2015 from 11.30am at Avritti Bhawan. A documentary film ‘Godna by Bhil & Gond Tribes’ of 21 mins directed by Tagore Fellow and retired Survey Officer of Adivasi Lok Kala Parishad, Mr. Vasant Nirgune. The documentary showcases the traditional method of Godna tattoo system and effect of modernisation on Godna.
Later a Colloquium on Godna will be organised, where subject experts will discuss the scientific and social importance of Godna Tattoo. In this colloquium, Mr. Kapil Tiwari (former Director, Adivasi Lok Kala Parishad and Tribal & folk culture scholar) and Doctor, Dr. Rashmi Jha (Acupuncture expert) are participating.
