Invitation for celebration of International Day of Yoga

The COVID-19 global pandemic has rekindled significance of age old ancient Indian practise of Yoga, which focuses on breathing, flexibility and strength to boost mental and physical well-being. International Day of Yoga will help in accentuating the usefulness of Yoga for global health and fitness, which has gained a new paradigm in the current COVID-19 situation.

Millions across the world practise Yoga in its different forms and Yoga has now become a multibillion dollar industry. Yet, few people are cognizant of its origins and relative importance to Indian culture and identity. The history of Yoga is evidenced in art, architecture, culture and spiritual & philosophical ways that are inextricably linked to India, the traditions of which have traversed the Indian subcontinent over thousands of years. Realising the importance of Yoga, Nehru Science Centre, Mumbai has organised an online interaction with Dr. Rajvi Mehta, an exponent of Iyengar Yoga, Iyengar Yogashraya, Mumbai and Dr. Deepika Kothari, Producer, Vishuddhi Films, Mumbai on 18.6.2020 at 5:00 p.m. Please find attached herewith e-invite of the interaction, for your kind reference.
