Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya under the celebrations of its 39th Foundation Day from 21-23 March, 2015

Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya under the celebrations of its 39th Foundation Day is organising various programmes and activities at its premises from 21-23 March, 2015.  The inaugural ceremony of this three day celebrations will begin at 5 pm. The chief guest of inaugural ceremony will be Prof A.C. Bhagbati (former Vice-chancellor, Rajiv Gandhi University, Arunachal Pradesh) and special guest will be Shri Alok Sanjar (Honourable Member, Parliamentary committee on Tourism & culture and Honourable Member of Parliament, Bhopal). The guests will inaugurate this three day programme by lighting of 1001 wicks traditional lamp of Kerala Aal Vilakku at Veethi Sankul premises of Manav Sangrahalaya. This will be followed by inauguration of Special Exhibition ‘Virasat’ and ‘Sandadi’- regional cultural festival of Arunachal Pradesh. Later in the evening artists from different tribes of Arunachal Pradesh will perform traditional dances.

The visitors can enjoy Ethnic Cuisine of Arunachal Pradesh from 21st – 23rd march at Open air exhibition Himalayan village / Charaiveti premises from 12.30 pm onwards. Visitors can enjoy Rice cake, Mince Chicken, Egg Curry and Apin of Adi Group, Dry fire fish, local rice in bamboo, roasted meat, local sluts and Pumpkin curry of Nyshi Group and Galos Group Apin Pinam (Boiled Rice) and boiled chicken.    

        Commemorating Foundation Day, Sangrahalaya is organising a performance by flute maestro Padma Vibhushan Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia on March 23, 2015 at Avritti Bhawan open air auditorium. The proposed programme of Sangeet Martand Padma Vibhushan Pt. Jasraj has been postponed for unavoidable reasons.
