Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya under its popular educational series of Do and Learn Education Programme is organising this year’s third training workshop from 23 May, 2015. The workshop is based on ‘Traditional Saura wall paintings of Orissa’.

The Saura wall paintings are called italons and are dedicated to edital the main deity of the Sauras. These paintings draw upon tribal folklore and have ritualistic importance. Ikons make extensive use of symbolically pregnant icons that mirror the quotidian chores of the Sauras. In this programme, Mr. Junesh Gomango from Orissa will impart training of popular Saura painting to registered participants at museum guesthouse of the Sangrahalaya from morning 11:00 to 2:00.
