Officer Order

Whereas Section 5 (1) of the Right to Information Act, 2005 requires every public authority to designate as many officers as the Central Public Information Officers as may be necessary to provide information to persons requesting for the information under the Act;

And whereas Section 19(1) of the Act provides that any person who does not receive a decision within the prescribed time or is aggrieved by a decision of the Central Public Information Officer (CPIO), may prefer an appeal to such officer who is senior in rank to Central Public Information Officer and is referred to as First Appellate Authority;

Therefore, the officers indicated in column (2) of the following Table are hereby designated as CPIOs and the officers indicated in column (6) as the First Appellate Authorities in respect of the subjects indicated in column (5) of the Table. This order supercedes this Ministry’s earlier orders of even No. dated 21st January, 2008, 7th March 2008 and 23rd May 2008,
